I am currently teaching a first-year undergraduate course on the theory of knowledge for the University of Calgary’s Arts and Science Honours Academy. This year-long course explores the way knowledge is created.

European Research Course on Atmospheres

Graduate course, Université Grenoble Alpes, 2024

From 2014-2024 I was a teacher in the European Research Course on Atmospheres (ERCA). I lectured on the role of the land surface in the climate system and the long-term history of human-environment interactions. I also supervised student projects and participated in the climate debate evening activity.

Earth System Science Field Studies

Undergraduate course, Department of Earth Sciences, The University of Hong Kong, 2023

In June 2023, my colleague Nicole Khan and I took a group of 20 undergraduates studying Earth and Environmental Sciences, Geography, and other topics on a month-long field course to the Pacific Northwest of the United States.

Understanding Climate Change

Undergraduate course, Faculty of Science, The University of Hong Kong, 2020

From 2020-2023 I taught taught an introductory course to the science of climate change in The University of Hong Kong’s Common Core program. As part of this course, all students completed the Climate Fresk.

Meteorology

Undergraduate course, Department of Earth Sciences, The University of Hong Kong, 2019

From 2019-2023 I taught introductory meteorology at the University of Hong Kong. The course was based on Prof. Roland Stull’s excellent textbook Meteorology for Scientists and Engineers.
